Yummy!

It is officially really hot here in Reno/Sparks. Temperatures in the high 90's and reaching over a 100 yesterday. I have felt so lucky because my little house is very cool. I am chalking it up to the brick insulation and an excellent cross breeze. Day before yesterday was the first day I had trouble sleeping because of the heat, so I broke down and bought a fan. Raym had suggested on with a remote control, but those were expensive, so I settled for a nice 18" oscillating pedestal fan for $18 from Home Depot. Problem solved, sleeping was perfect yesterday.

On the way home I was thinking that I would like a tasty cool treat and stopped at Save Mart to see what kind of ice cream might be available and on sale.

I was delighted to find this brand:


I had eaten this flavor at David's once and really enjoyed it. The bowl in the background is one Michael gave me when he left Venice to move someplace far, maybe Arkansas, or maybe Seattle, I can't remember. This is my favorite bowl even though it does have a little chip in it. It is the one I use all the time, and I always think about Michael. Today was no different as I scooped this deliciousness into it and enjoyed my cool tasty treat in front of my new fan!


I am not sure if the fact that it has one third fewer calories than regular ice cream will matter, because I have a feeling that my portions will negate this fact. Oh well, I am cool and happy so who cares!
