Bill's Garden

My back house neighbor, Bill has a great vegetable garden in the back yard. He offered me space when I first moved in and told me I could adopt the few things Maryke planted before she moved, but I was not ready to commit to vegetables and it felt late in the season to plant. You can be assured that I will be planting next year.

Bill is currently on a year long vacation from working as a nurse in the psyche ward at the local hospital. He travels alot and asks me to water the garden in his absence. I am more than happy to oblige.

This is the long view of the garden, which is the view out my kitchen window and I am very pleased about. I thought I took a close up of that giant sunflower at the back of the garden, but I did not, so I wanted to point it out here. I think it is so cool.

There are plenty of zucchini coming up. Bill is always offering to share in his bounty, so I will be making some yummy vegetarian lasagna some time soon.

Tomatoes will be in abundance as well, so I am thinking marinara sauce, and BLT's.

He has several plants of these tiny strawberries. I have never seen them in a store, they remind me of the dried strawberries they use in cereal.

Been working alot lately. Monday I did twelve hours, leaving the store at around 9am on Tuesday, only to come back and work swing that night at 4. I got home Tuesday night around 1:30a and I was really tired. So tired, I could not sleep...go figure, so I was up till about three, slept till 6am on Wednesday, watered the yard, went grocery shopping then back to bed around 10am to sleep till about 11pm. So Wednesday night I was up all night, which works well for going back to work on Thursday...and I rearranged my furniture, hehehe...pictures to come later.
I hope everyone has a great day!
