An Angel Named Carole

My favorite co-worker is Carole. She was more than generous to me while I was training, she has a great sense of humor, an easy going outlook on life, and she is just a delight to be around. Carole relieves me on Saturday and Sunday mornings, usually showing up with a tasty treat and we sit and talk while we have breakfast together. I relieve her on Monday nights and she never fails to leave a few dollars, most of the time more than a few, in the tip jar. Carole worked graveyard for a year and understands that there are alot of slow nights, so she likes to get me off to a good start. I am so grateful and tell her often, she just brushes me off and smiles. That's Carole.

Yesterday, Carole told me she tried to call me at home and I never answered my phone. I laughed and told her I had a land line number that I posted at work, but I was waiting till payday to buy a phone. I was going to look on Craig's list, because I wanted an old school, plug in the wall, non-portable phone. She told me to go to Savers, she had gotten an AT&T princess phone there for a couple of dollars. Amber, Jenn and Jeremy had mentioned Savers many times. They would show up in some cute outfit and say, "I got this at Savers for 3 bucks." or something similar. I had no idea one could find items besides clothing at Savers. I went straight over there from work to see what I could find. Yes, I got a phone for $4

And an iron for $5

And all these taper candles for $3. Score! I had burned my candle supply up before I moved and was thinking it would be awhile before I could get my stock back in shape. Savers to the rescue! I only bought these, but they had a ton more, so I will be able to stock up little by little.

Savers also had furniture, and since I have no living room furniture, I took a look at what they had. There was a really cool chair for $50, but I was not ready to spend that much money and thought I would just check back as I was able and see if I could get lucky.

This morning Carole called me at work because we are covering shifts today for a woman they fired and she just wanted to check and see if Trina had called me and we were all set. Then she asked me if I found a phone and I told her about my shopping trip. She then said, "You need furniture? I have a cute love seat if you want it, why don't you come by after work and see if you like it." And I did. Score again!

My deepest gratitude for my new angel friend, Carole, her generous heart and her loving spirit! Life is good!
