More Dotty's

I took some more pictures of Dotty's this morning at about 6am, they are not very good, but I am posting them anyway. I think I am trying to rush to take them lest the surveillance cameras freak out and send in the troops. I am sure Dotty's would not want me taking pictures in there -- I could be the competition come to infiltrate the business and steal trade secrets. I know my purposes are innocent enough, so I did it anyway, although I did not use the flash, hehehe.

The following four photos are the four corners of the floor. All the plants are fake, but they do look nice. A crew comes in once a month to clean them all. I am very glad that is not my job. All the do-dads on the shelves are glued down which cracks me up. I am not sure who dusts, but it is not me -- they leave me with the bathrooms, the mopping and the vacuuming among other weekly jobs. I guess they figure the dusting would put me over the edge, plus it would be hard to see if it was done at night. As it is I have started vacuuming after the sun comes up in order to be able to see the dirt, ashes and crumbs. The first few nights I had to vacuum twice, then I learned.

This is my table. I am permitted to sit, read, smoke, eat or whatever at this table, but no place else in the store.
I describe Dotty's as a cross between a very small casino and 7-11, we sell alot of cigarettes. In fact, all of my cash sales are cigarettes. Our prices are a dollar or more below every place else in town. They get a special deal from Costco and are making their money in other ways, they figure they might as well give cheap cigs to the customers. I have a hand full of people who come in every day to buy cigs on the way to work. One of my daily duties is to count the cigs every day at the beginning of my shift - it takes me about 20 minutes.
There is just about any beverage you can name to consume. They have a sort of decent selection of beer considering Coors, and Bud light are the top choices among the gamblers. Based on what I see in the grocery stores, that probably rings true throughout the region and is no surprise to me. There is a full bar with good a good alcohol selection, I finally got a Patron bottle after wanting one for many years. I have a regular at night who drinks Patron and she has emptied two bottles on my shift,(not the whole thing, just the timing of the bottle). I currently have one in the kitchen with daisies in it.
To go with the beverages, we have lots of free snacks. Plenty of assorted candy in the jars...

And an assortment of snacks I fill and put out, pretzels, Cheezits, peanuts, etc.

The dreaded ATM Machine. I love the bench though, like there might be a line or something! The door is the women's restroom, the men's room is just down the hall.
I don't spend much time in the kitchen, unless I am mopping, filling snacks, making coffee or getting ice. Most of these chores are just to set up for the day shift. I have never been busy enough to run out of ice and I have very few coffee drinkers. Red Bull is the vampire hour drink of choice.
I do spend alot of time at the register. Doing paperwork for the cash out tickets, the promotional coupons, etc. The computer is there and all the cash payouts are dispensed through the computer through a money machine under the register everyone calls Glory. It nice to have Glory because we are responsible for a lot less actual cash during our shift.
The money counting and end of shift paperwork happen in the office. I start and end my day here. I love the chair and am trying to figure out to get one for my desk at home!
Beyond the office is the deep storage for cases of beer, cleaning supplies, etc. There is also a microwave for our food if we need it, which is nice. That's Dotty's. Have a nice day!
