Saturday, June 16, 2009 was a beautiful sunny day in Reno. I must comment on the weather for just a moment. I am finding that it is either ridiculously cold here or really hot. We were looking forward to a day in the high 80's, but luckily the graduation ceremony started at 8am, so it was not too bad during the ceremony. They have a section of the campus called The Quad which is a huge grassy area surrounded by very old and beautiful trees. We sat towards the back where there was plenty of cool shade. Everyone there was sharing the same excitement of watching their loved one finally receive a college degree, so the crowd was happy and accommodating as people moved in and out of the seats.

David loves the camera, as we all know by now, and Jenn feels the need to stick out her tongue every time she gets her picture taken...what's that about? Richard in the background, just takes everything in stride, bless his heart.

It was very difficult to get close enough to the stage take a good photo of Jeremy walking after he received his degree, but lucky for me, I got a decent one and was able to blow it up for blogging purposes.

We all had a designated meeting place after the ceremony. For those of you who may remember the colossal blunder of miscommunication at his high school graduation when we all left and he felt abandoned after the ceremony, no one was willing to let that happen again. We were all clear about what would happen after the ceremony, and text messaging sure facilitates good, clear communication.
Jeremy resisted his rebel urges and remained in his seat until the ceremony was over, rather than leaving as soon as he had walked the stage. The whole event was finished by around noon and this was our first glimpse of the family's newest graduate.

Congratulations, Jeremy, we are all so proud of you!
