I could not believe how hard it was raining. Big fat drops making puddles of their own as they hit the ground. The thunder was rumbling and the lightening was flashing regularly. I just had to take some pictures.
My first look out the front door at the sky made me wonder if I had been dreaming.

Then I went out back and saw that the storm was coming from the north and moving south.

Even though the sky in the front looked kind of clear, the rain was pouring down. Had I been wearing more than a t-shirt, I may have walked out into the rain and looked for a rainbow, but I decided it was not that important at the moment. At least not important enough to go get dressed. The rain was pouring off the roof onto the front porch, splashing so hard it was coming into the house.

The sidewalk and the street had become an instant river.

It was so cool and I was thrilled, plus I had the bonus of not having to get up after dark to water the lawn and the flowers! It did take me awhile to go back to sleep, but the sound of the rain was comforting and I enjoyed lying there listening to it while I dozed back into dreamland.
