More Snow

I know I should probably be much less excited about snow than I am. I scares me a little bit, mostly the driving in it part, but I just can't help being excited. I am sure after awhile the magic and mystery will fade, but for now I am finding such beauty in it. Weird, unh?

The weather around here has been quite nice for this time of year, and they are even calling for a whopping fifty seven degrees by the end of the week, but this morning we go a surprise snowstorm early this morning. When I came downstairs everyone was gone and there was only one set of tire tracks in the driveway. I checked the garage and no cars, although Jazmin's car was still parked in the driveway covered in a few inches of snow. I deduced that it must have snowed after David left for work and that Betsy had driven the girls to school due to the weather. I later found out that David left the house in a blizzard and his tracks were just covered up. Betsy had indeed taken the girls to school since they were running late and she did not want Jazmin driving in those conditions. When Betsy came home I was outside on the front porch and the snow was barely falling. She told me she was going to shovel the driveway, so I offered to help. Don't ask me why I thought this was so much fun, but I totally enjoyed scooping up the clean white powder and tossing it onto the lawn, or at least where I thought the lawn was in the beginning. It took us about an hour and I was sweating by the time we were done, but perfectly pleased with our job. Goofy, I know. I was not awake enough to get my camera out during the job, but felt compelled to take pictures when we were finished.

By the time we were finished shoveling, the sun was coming out and I knew it would all be gone soon. I am not sure why I get such a kick out of snow in my truck, but I do. I left the house several hours later to go apply in person at a job posting I saw on Craig's list and even though the sun was out, my truck was still full of snow.

This one was in the morning and most of the snow on top had melted by the time I drove, except for a pile on the front of the windshield near the wipers, which I just let blow off as I drove into town. And snow washes your car! Bonus! My truck has never looked this clean, well at least not since it rained last in LA.

I am so grateful that I am finding so much beauty here in the Sparks snow.

Have a great day!
